Blake totally took advantage of the whole "cake for dinner" idea.
We enjoyed having people over, and the kids had a blast. At one point, the base broke on their inflatable baseball tee, spilling 5 pounds of rice on the floor. Instead of cleaning it up, we let the kids play. They had so much fun; and boy, oh, boy did we have fun cleaning it up!
The aftermath
Blake appears to have gotten over his tough breakup with the weinermobile. He has a new crush, and she's more than twice his age. He calls out her name, recognizes her mom's car, and tonight he got up the guts to try to kiss her. He cornered in the hallway and looked up at her with kissy lips. Her response: "Disgusting!" Sorry kid, it's a tough world. Luckily, his sugar high got him through the night, and he didn't let the rejection get him down.
How could you resist kissing that face?
Hilarious! If sweet Blake only knew that I have heard the word "diz-gusting" incorrectly used over 50 times in the last day he wouldn't take it personally.
ReplyDeleteFantastic gathering with fantastic people. So glad you are home and thank you for the yummy treat dinner. I keep thinking about those lemon cookies (all the deliciousness of the pie without the so-so crust = perfect).
